AppSecretary intelligently interprets incoming text messages to determine which of your saved responses to send back and then replies. It will not repeatedly sent back the same messages and if it receives a message that it does not know how to respond to then it will send back a generic response (that you had previously entered) asking for the sender to wait (until you are able to read and respond at your own time).
It replies to many of the most common messages and does so once for each question. When it cannot understand a text message coming in, then it sends a default message (that you had previously entered) instructing them to wait until you have time to respond. See our Products page for full details.
No, AppSecretary works on its own and does not require anything additional.
Currently AppSecretary runs just on Android devices. There was development work to have it available on Apple (iOS), but unfortunately it was found to not be possible.
AppSecretary is completely free to use.
No, as AppSecretary only works with incoming and outgoing SMS text messages, it will not work with text message apps.
AppSecretary can be started by clicking the red arrow 'Play' button in the top right of the app that always shows. Once clicked it will change to a double bar 'Pause' icon which once clicked will stop/pause the app until clicked again.
AppSecretary can optionally go to your FAQ page and try and look for the question that a user is texting you about and attempting to respond with that answer from your FAQ page. It does this by going to your FAQ page link address that you enter in and trying it's best to find the question that closely enough matches what a user texted you and trying to find the answer on that page for that question to text it back to them. This feature should be understood as a best effort feature and is not going to work for everyone's FAQ page.
This is a very rich feature that once enabled will be able to book appointments for you right in your phone calendar. Highly customizable it will book appointments for what length you want within your hours of operation, it will allow for breaks in between if you like, along with options to ask customers for their name and address, along with many other options. It will even handle cancellations for you if you like! The way it works is when AppSecretary detects that a customer is asking for an appointment or your next opening, instead of using the reply in the Responses tab for this, it will present the customer with a number of open times from your calendar which they can book from with just texting the number of the appointment. This feature operates as a paid monthly subscription for the service.
AppSecretary is in development for a version for iPhones (IOS). Please check back in the future for when it will be ready.
AppSecretary holds no liability for any messages responded to and the content of said messages.
AppSecretary does not permanently record or store (locally or remotely) any text messages or contacts. Text messages are only also shown in the first tab of 'Messages', which will no longer show once the app is restarted as they are not recorded. If you wish to see the text messages, they will also show in your main phone message app
Ensure that the red button in the top right is set to being active, meaning it should show the 2 vertical bars and not the arrow. If it does show the arrow, click it to turn it on.
The app also has to remain open (though does not have to be visible).
It will only send replies once per item, that includes the default message that it could send if it cannot figure out any other reply to send back. So if the same person sends you a text message for one of those items it has already replied to or it cannot figure out how to reply but has already sent the default message, then no reply would be sent back.
AppSecretary is always being improved in terms of interpreting incoming text messages and understanding how best to reply to them. Feel free to send us any suggestions for improvement in terms of text message interpretation/responses or any other issue or recommendation on AppSecretary, please use our contact page here
There is an option in the Settings called "Prompt Response" which when selected will reply back to the customer with a confirmation asking them if what they are asking is indeed what we think it is and then if they reply 'yes' it will send that response that you entered; if they reply 'no' then it will apologize and ask them to rephrase their question.
AppSecretary only works with text messaging and does not handle phone calls in any way. Possibly in the future it may be added as a new feature but no plans at the moment.
